New General Merchandise
Common Examples: NEW Appliances, Raw Materials, Textiles, Flat Packed Furniture, Small Machinery, Machine Parts, Hardware, Building Materials, Toys, Sporting Goods etc.
Typical Coverage: Subject to a minimum $500 deductible any one accident or occurrence.
Used General Merchandise
Common Examples: USED Appliances, Raw Materials, Textiles, Flat Packed Furniture, Small Machinery, Machine Parts, Hardware, Building Materials, Toys, Sporting Goods etc.
Typical Coverage: Institute Cargo Clauses (C) CL 384 dated 1.1.2009. Institute Strikes Clauses (Cargo) CL 386 dated 1.1.2009.
Used and Fully Reconditioned General Merchandise
Common Examples: REFURBISHED Appliances, Raw Materials, Textiles, Flat Packed Furniture, Small Machinery, Machine Parts, Hardware, Building Materials, Toys, Sporting Goods etc.
Typical Coverage: Warranted that the Interest insured is fully refurbished / reconditioned to a new standard. Excluding Rust, Oxidisation, Discoloration, Wetting, Staining, Scratching, Bruising, Chipping, Denting, Marring and the Cost of Repainting as applicable unless caused by an Insured peril. Deductible: minimum $750 or currency equivalent each & every claim.
Fragile Goods
Common Examples: Glass, Ceramics, Marble, Granite, Tiles, Earthenware, Pottery, etc.
Typical Coverage: Subject to a minimum deductible of 3% the total insured value, minimum $1000 any one accident or occurrence.
Non-Perishable Foods/Beverages/ETC
Common Examples: Bottled or Canned Goods, Cereals, Grains, Dry Goods, Confectionary Items, Supplements, etc.
Typical Coverage: Excluding loss or damage caused by temperature variation. Inland transits subject to a minimum $500 deductible any one accident or occurrence.
Perishable/Temperature Controlled Goods
Common Examples: Produce, Meat, Seafood, Dairy, Frozen Foods, Pharmaceuticals (vaccines, tablets, medications, etc.) etc.
Typical Coverage: Subject to the Institute Frozen Food Clauses (A) 1.1.86 Including the Frozen Food Extension or IMTA Frozen Meat Extension as applicable. Subject to a minimum $1000 deductible any one accident or occurrence.
Air shipments: Warranted shipments on dry ice, gel packs or other similar cooling methods to be suitable for the anticipated voyage including at least a 6 hour delay. Warranted no risk after discharge from customs at destination airport.
Personal Effects/Household Goods (No Coverage Available)
Common Examples: Household Moves (Professionally or Owner Packed), Personal Automobiles/Motorcycles/Watercraft
Typical Coverage: Institute Cargo Clauses (C) CL 384 dated 1.1.2009 extended to include the risks of theft or non-delivery of an entire consignment or full container, trailer or vehicle load. Institute Strikes Clauses (Cargo) CL 386 dated 1.1.2009. Subject to the Household Goods & Personal Effects Conditions. Deductible: 3% of sum insured or US$2,500 (or currency equivalent) if higher each & every claim.
TV/Home Theatre/Computers/Desktop Parts or Peripherals/Cameras & Camcorders/Previously Released Video Games (By referral only)
Common Examples: Televisions, Speakers, Sound Systems, Desktop Computers, Computer Servers, Keyboards, Headsets, Cameras, Camcorders, DVDs and Blue-Ray Equipment, etc.
Typical Coverage: Used items excluding Rust, Oxidization, Discolouration, Scratching, Denting, Marring, Chipping, Electrical and Mechanical Derangement unless caused by an Insured Peril. Subject To: Second-Hand Replacement Clause. Inland transits subject to a minimum of 3% of the total insured value,minimum $1000 deductible any one accident or occurrence.
Laptops/Tablets/Cellular & Smart Phones/Video Gaming Systems/First Release Games (By referral only)
Common Examples: Laptops, Notebooks, Tablets, Cell Phones and Smart Phones, Video Game Consoles, etc.
Typical Coverage: Subject to a minimum deductible of 1% of the total insured value, minimum $1000 any one accident or occurrence. Used items excluding Rust, Oxidization, Discolouration, Scratching, Denting, Marring, Chipping, Electrical and Mechanical Derangement unless caused by an Insured Peril. Subject To: Second-Hand Replacement Clause.
Vehicles/Automobiles – New/Used to/from Dealer
Common Examples: Cars, Trucks, SUVs, Watercrafts, etc. *Shipped from Manufacturer to Dealer, Dealer to Dealer, or Dealer to Buyer
Typical Coverage: Warranted Professionally Packed, Blocked and Braced. No risk whilst under own power other than during loading and unloading. Subject to a pre-shipment condition report otherwise excluding Rust, Oxidization, Discolouration, Scratching, Denting, Marring, Chipping, unless caused by an Insured Peril. Excluding loss or damage caused by freezing of water in the radiator or coolant system. Subject to Motor Vehicle Clause. Used items subject to the Second- Hand Replacement Clause. Subject to a minimum $500 deductible any one accident or occurrence.
New or Used Mobile Equipment or Commercial Use Vehicles
Common Examples: Tractors, Mobile Construction Machinery, Fork Lifts, Backhoes, etc.
Typical Coverage: Warranted Professionally Packed, Blocked and Braced. No risk whilst under own power other than during loading and unloading. Subject to a pre-shipment condition report otherwise excluding Rust, Oxidization, Discolouration, Scratching, Denting, Marring, Chipping, unless caused by an Insured Peril. Excluding loss or damage caused by freezing of water in the radiator or coolant system. Subject to Motor Vehicle Clause. Used items subject to the Second- Hand Replacement Clause. Radioactive/Hazardous/Restricted of Controlled Items
Common Examples: Goods Requiring IMDG or UN Packaging, Chemicals, Gases, Combustibles, Explosives etc.
Typical Coverage: Warranted Professionally Packed in accordance to IMDG or UN code for the transportation of dangerous or hazardous goods.
Waste Products/Scrap Metals
Typical Coverage: Subject to Institute Cargo Clauses “C” 1.1.86, including Jettison, Loss Overboard, and Non-Delivery of entire container. Inland shipments: Subject to Inland Transit Named Perils: This insurance covers against the risks of Fire, Explosion, Lightning, Collision and Overturning of the carrying conveyance.
Used Clothing
Typical Coverage: Subject to Institute Cargo Clauses “C” 1.1.86, including Jettison, Loss Overboard, and Non-Delivery of entire container. Cosmetics & Perfumes (By referral only)
Common Examples: Make-up/Beauty Products, Cologne, Perfume, Facial and Body Creams. etc.
Typical Coverage: Subject to a minimum deductible of 1% of sum insured or US$2,500 (or currency equivalent) if higher each & every claim.
Antiques/Artwork/Collectibles (By referral only)
Common Examples: Fine Art (including paintings, master pieces, original works), Sculptures and Statues, Signed Memorabilia, Rare or Collectible Items, One-of-a-Kind Items, Antiquities, etc.
Typical Coverage: Warranted goods to be professionally packed. Warranted proof of value to be declared in the event of a claim by either commercial invoice or independent third party appraisal. Subject to a minimum deductible of 3% of total insured value, minimum $1000. Subject to the Antique Clause if applicable: In the event of the subject-matter insured being damaged by risks insured against, this insurance covers only the reasonable cost of repairs and in no circumstances shall cover depreciation or loss in value in addition thereto.
All Other Interests/Excluded Goods (By referral only)
Common Examples: Ammunition, Firearms, Oversize/Overweight Shipments.
